Financial Stability Task Force
The Financial Stability Task Force in Arab Countries was established in 2014 by a decision of the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities to strengthen cooperation and the exchange of expertise on financial stability issues. The Task Force comprises officials responsible for financial stability at Arab central banks and monetary authorities.
Objectives
The Task Force works to develop policies and tools that support financial stability across Arab countries and strengthen cooperation and the exchange of expertise among relevant national authorities and international institutions.
It also prepares the Arab Financial Stability Report, alongside specialized studies and working papers, contributing to the analysis of financial stability conditions and raising awareness of related issues.
Technical Secretariat
The Arab Monetary Fund serves as the Task Force’s Technical Secretariat. Its responsibilities include organizing meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and following up on the implementation of the Task Force’s annual work programme. AMF also contributes to the preparation of studies supporting the Task Force’s activities, which are submitted to the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities at its annual meetings.
Cooperation with regional and international bodies
The Financial Stability Task Force in the Arab countries is working closely with the International Monetary Fund, the Financial Stability Institute, the Financial Stability Board and a number of other regional and international bodies.
